🔗 Share this article The second-hand marketplace Users Express Displeasure Over Sizing Changes Shoppers are voicing their frustration following a change that caused listings displaying inaccurate size information. The second-hand shopping app has updated its size classifications for female and kids' apparel but did not contact every member regarding the update. Online Platforms Response Numerous buyers and vendors are posting online stating that platform listings now display a different size category compared to what was initially listed due to the recalibration. The company said the updated approach better aligns with other platforms. It has advised users to check their listings and adjust the sizing manually when needed, which has left users frustrated. Sizing System Changes Previously, the sizing featured a single numeric size and a letter, like S/8 or M/10. The new system has a letter with a size spectrum like S/UK 8-10. In some cases, the sizing has been recategorised - like an L measurement was formerly size 12 but currently displays as UK 16-18. Member Experiences A fashion influencer, who creates plus-size fashion videos, explained the modification "makes transactions more difficult". "Not many brands say XL is a 20-22," the way the service now categorizes. A different member, based in Glasgow, explained products she uploaded on Vinted with size 14 labels were displaying on the service as larger sizing 20-22. "Should someone sized 20-22 purchase these they may become frustrated," she explained. Manual Updates Another shopper, based in Derby, stated she felt frustrated due to the update requiring manual adjustment the measurements for "each individual item". "For me this is particularly frustrating, as I'm chronically ill and Vinted sales have been crucial following partial earnings loss," she explained. Marketplace Information The service features exceeding 100 million shoppers, including 18 million in the UK. It has emerged as a preferred choice to second-hand platforms like eBay and Depop. This isn't the first time that an unexpected update to the app has proved unpopular: last year, the platform withdrew an update regarding delivery choices after backlash from users.
